“the very last one in a very long line”

remodel

analyst office area The past week at work has been interesting. The remodel is nearly complete; I went ahead and moved into my new desk today. It’s certainly a departure from the hand-me-down desks IT is used to having at our organization.

I determined my headaches to be a result of a bad combination of allergies and stress. I stopped taking the ibuprofen (save only for extreme cases of pain). My stress levels aren’t as bad now that I’m spending a little more time being an analyst and less time at the helpdesk. I will follow up with my doctor to discuss all that has happened in the past few weeks.

helpdesk area We interviewed 4 people for my position at the helpdesk. And instead of just replacing me, we will be hiring 2 for the helpdesk. My partner applied for the operations manager in our department, and it looks like she’ll be getting the job. She’ll be supervising the helpdesk, our techs, and the network guys. Hopefully she’ll last; there’s already bad blood between her and several of those she’ll manage. My friend says “let us pray.”

So in maybe 2 to 3 weeks, the helpdesk will have a new look, and I’ll get to be analyst full-time. Finally!
