“the very last one in a very long line”

coping

So I’m back up and online. I did not use a computer at all on Saturday. How was my day? Uneventful. Shutdown Day should’ve included TV, iPods, video games, radio, etc. And it’s my understanding that a good part of the online community did NOT shut down.

Both CL and D used the desktop PC while I enjoyed a Foo Fighter concert on DVD (I’m on a serious Foo kick right now; probably my favorite band at the moment). TV took up a good part of my day. I also read a little, took Salem for a walk, caught up on some podcasts, and took a nap. Like I said, uneventful.

I’m still “recuperating” from oral surgery; the biggest issue I have right now is I’m hungry, and due to tenderness and some pain, I can only eat soft foods. What I’ve eaten (in order of satisfaction with most satisfying first):

  • hamburger soup with rice
  • mashed potatoes from KFC
  • vanilla shake from McDonald’s
  • applesauce
  • vanilla ice cream
  • vanilla pudding
  • strawberry jello

I’m ready to eat more, but I don’t think my mouth can handle a whole lot. CL and I just got back from the grocery store, and I wanted everything in site. Pasta is soft, and it certainly sounds good, so CL will make spaghetti tonight. I’m also going to attempt to brush my teeth for the first time; I hate going a day without brushing, much less 2 or 3 days. Absolutely gross.
