The lab system’s go-live was, ummm … fairly successful. I got called in early the day of go-live. Tuesday was surprisingly a quiet one, but day 2 was not. We actually had issues each day right up until 1 PM on Friday. I could have left early, but I had other non-lab-related tasks that I wanted to finish. So I didn’t get out of there until after 4 PM. I really would’ve preferred my normal 4-day weekend, but it wasn’t gonna happen. The way I see it, they owe me a day and a half off for the past 2 weeks.

I’ve been trying to enjoy my weekend nonetheless. However, I haven’t been sleeping well. Actually, neither I nor my wife have been sleeping well. We believe it’s time for a new mattress. My back and neck had been sore, and now my knee is experiencing pain. I normally have bursitis in my right knee, but for the last 48 hours, it’s been my left one. And tomorrow, we’re going to Six Flags. I’ll probably spend more time lounging at the water park then walking around from ride to ride.

I called my cell phone provider today to turn off text messaging for my phone. I’ve been receiving spam text messages for a while now, and the amount I’ve received has increased big time in the last 2 weeks. The customer service rep recommended I have my cell number changed (at no charge to me); that would be the only way to stop the spam completely without turning off text messaging altogether. I didn’t care if my number changed since only those close to me have access to it. And the guy credited my account for all the spam I had received in the last 2 weeks ($2.55 worth).
