I received an email today talking about the need for books in New Orleans.
You can box them up to send to New Orleans Public Library. They are asking for any and all hardcover and paperback books to restock the shelves after Katrina. The library staff will assess which titles will be designated for the shelves. [...]

Over 2 weeks have passed since Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, and rescuers from Pasado’s Safe Haven are finding animals barely alive in homes. The situation is dire. The rescuers need supplies, hot meals, and more people to help with the enormous task of finding and saving these animals.
